Hey! I’m Alice and I give the phrase ‘sweet tooth’ its meaning!

Like many, I nose dived into starting my own business when COVID decided to rear its ugly head and, with a real stubbornness towards not becoming part of the statistic of people who start a small business and fail, I haven’t looked back. Being a huge foodie, baking has always been something I’ve done to relax and unwind and with my thought process of ‘if I can make a living from a much loved hobby then I’m on to a winner’, Get Treated was born.

Whilst I do love preparing treat boxes and seasonal grazers for collection from our kitchen in Mulbarton and that’s where we started, I wanted to go from small village to city to county to beyond (que the Etsy shop!)… So, together with my husband Dan, we hit the road and started ‘popping up’ across Norfolk and beyond at village halls, markets, fayres, campsites… to bring the very best bakes out there (even if I do say so ourselves!) to more of you. A gazebo set up wasn’t quite hitting the mark for us and fulfilling my passion for details and design so that’s when I decided to take Dan to a field on a very cold, wet winter night at 9pm and show him a horsebox, revealing it under a flickering touch light with a ‘ta da! Couldn’t it be beautiful!’. With a creative vision and a fire in our bellies, the horsebox underwent a real ugly duckling to beautiful swan transformation and now she’s hitched up on the back of our car acting as the most perfect, moveable shopfront!

As more of you meet Betsy and fall in love with her character and charm, I love hearing about your plans for special events and how you can see Betsy being apart of that. Please don’t be shy and get in touch so I can help make your celebration both more delicious and more captivating.
